Mage PvP GuideMage PvP Guide Keybinds and Macros-

Keybinds and macros are one of the most important parts to your success in PvP. Your gear is very important but that is something that we have to slowly build up – our skills are something that we can quickly build as we learn more and more about PvP. With a solid Mage PvP Guide you will be able to learn the best ways to keybind and the best macros in which to use.

Today we’re going to go over one of the macros that you should be using as a mage. Mages need to get out of combat often to drink and trying to find what water you currently have in your bags will get you killed. Most of the time you will have your conjured water available – but if you don’t this macro will come in handy.

Mage PvP Guide Macro:

/use Conjured Glacier Water
/use Conjured Croissant
/use Star’s Tears

That macro will let you use any water you have of those 3 in the proper order. You can add more if there are other types of water that you carry. As far as keybinds go you need to get a solid Mage PvP Guide to read about the duels for each and come up with your own keybind set.

Everyone has their own keybinds and macros that they will eventually tweak and cater to their playstyle. They are an essential piece of your PvP arsenal – in PvE you can afford to sit there and click all day but if you are trying to click in PvP you don’t have a chance. So make sure you at least figure out keybinds before you even begin a forray into the PvP world.

Mage – Damage with Skill

by admin on January 21, 2010

If your friends look upon you as someone with an agile mind, remarkable memory and micro-managing capabilities, you would be much better off with Mages and this PvP guide will bring out your best skills for combat.

Unlike other classes who have to balance every conceivable statistic in the game into their gear, Mages need just Intellect, Stamina, Mana per five/sec, Spell Hit, Resilience, critical strike rating and spell damage as their gear.

During combat, Mage usually keep their enemies at an arm’s length. Though they can wield the most potent and offensive spells, Mages are highly vulnerable to melee attacks from a close range. Frost Nova and Blink are extremely useful for Mages while trying to keep their foes at a safe distance from themselves.

Mages are gifted with the ability to conjure their own food and water in arena. What’s more! No other class can have his bread and butter unless a Mage gives it to them. Mages can also conjure mana stones such as Mana Agate, Citrine, Jade, or Ruby for instant restoration of a significant amount of man. The perfect antidote during an emergency.

Coming over to dueling strategies, the simplest fight is one that ensues between the Mage versus the Warrior. If you encounter a Warrior, fully equipped with shield as a result of Spell Reflect, all you need to do is shoot an Ice Lance to get rid of him.

All Paladins are an easy target with the exception of retribution. Their opening stun attack can be won, if the Mage Blinks out of it and proceeds to nuke them. Soon Paladins will run around to hit you but then there is minimal damage and the healing tales place constantly. Mage fighting against another Mage requires skill. Your ability lies in quickly deciphering what spec they are and in reacting to it. If your opponent Mage is a frost and you are an arena, then Spell Steal his ice barrier to deny him his survival link. Victory lies in knowing your opponent well.

When dealing with a Shaman, the most important thing to remember is that almost all their spells are nature. When you Counterspell a heal or lightning bolt, it will lock them out of everything for eight seconds. Keep your distance from enhancement Shamans at all cost because they have enough wind fury to turn a Mage into ashes. Shamans are not that hard nuts to crack but if you are not careful, they could be your worst opponents.

The real hard fight ensues between Mages and Rogues. A frost mage can beat a rogue ninety-five per cent of the time while a fire mage will be lucky enough to win just fifty percent. Rogues are a dumb class which is why they open with cheap shot. All you need to do then is Blink away and start fighting. If they manage to garrote you, use Ice Block to come out of the “silence” effects.

Harder to fight than Rogues are the Druids. What you must keep in mind is that Mages cannot sheep a Druid for he can shape shift out of slowing effects. Resto Druids are a real pain in the neck and your best option is to burn them down before you run out of mana.

Equally irritating are the Hunters and beating a Warlock is simply out of question for a Mage. But if you follow the rules and learn from instinct, there is every chance you can turn your opponents upside down.
